Winter sat down on her towel she had stretched out over the sand. She looked around and waited for her friend to get there. She wanted to get out of the house and she needed some hang time with her friend Heather. She looked around trying to see if she saw her.

It was a beautiful day. The sun was shining, the birds were chirping, and Heather was in the best mood possible. The previous night she had slept like a baby. No, not waking up every two hours, but sleeping through the entire night. So when she woke up in the morning, she leaped out of bed, got dressed, grabbed a towel to lay on, and headed down to the lake to meet Winter. Yes, today was going to be a good day.
Heather's smile shone brightly as she passed a group of teens. She waved to them a simple 'hello' and continued on her way. "Hey Winter. What's new?" she asked, laying down the towel and taking a seat beside her friend.

Winter looked up and smiled at her. "Hey girl long time no see." She said laughing because they saw each other last night at the club. "I can't believe we are going into our senior year!" She said smiling and clapping her hands. "This year is going to be sooooo much Fun!!" She said lifting her hands into the air. She wanted everyone to know how much fun they are going to have. "And Cheering this year is also going to be fun." She said smiling.

"Yea, I know. It's been sooo long." Heather joked. Maybe because of the awesome night at the club, she had slept so good. She hadn't gotten totally wasted though because Heather was trying to get out of the drinking addiction that had consumed her. She rolled over on her back and held herself up on her elbows.
"I know! This year is going to be completely awesome. I just hope that the West Siders know their place this year. They tried to take over our spot last year. So not cool." Heather rolled her eyes at the thought of those on the West Side. They weren't all bad, but somehow they just seemed suspicious. Maybe she was just being paranoid, but Heather wasn't taking any chances. She hadn't met a single person from the West Side that was worth being friends with.
Cheering. Heather's third favorite thing to do. Besides shopping and flirting with guys that is. "I just hope the year goes perfectly. With no major conflicts or anything. You know how I am about cheering and it seems that people want to tare us all down. Course, you also know me and my paraniod ways." Heather laughed and looked out at the beach. The place was gorgeous.

Yea she knew about her paranoia. "It'll be fine you will have me and Carmen. We can kick anyones butts and you know that. " She slightly sucked in a breathe when she mentioned West siders. She didn't like many of them but she did have a few friends. Like Craig she would forever be grateful to Craig for saving her life.
And then there was Nathan. Ohhh Nathan. She wished she could tell Heather about her secret crush on Nathan but she knew that Heather would never accept her with him. She just wished she didn't have to hide it from her friends. She wished she could tell them that she liked Nathan a lot but she couldn't. They would hate her and she didn't think she could handle that.
"I can't wait to see what the new uniforms look like. Remember the ones we had last year total mismatch. I hated those uniforms hopefully this year it will be better." She said.

Of course. Carmen and Winter could take anyone. Sure, they didn't come across as the tough type, but when it came down to it, they could take anyone. Heather wasn't exactly the complete opposite, but she wasn't the best when it came to fighting. Maybe it was her girly additude. She wasn't afraid to 'break a nail' as people said, but she just didn't like the idea of fist fighting. But of course that wouldn't stop her if someone was really pissing her off.
"Yea, I know. You two got my back this year. As always." Heather said with a smile. The cool breeze brushed past her face and Heather shivered slightly. It wasn't cold, because it was a hot summer day, but it did send chills down her spine. She noticed the look on Winter's face and how she took a deep breath at the sound of the 'West Siders', but she just figured it was because she hated them as well.
There was something that seemed kind of different about Winter. Heather wasn't sure what it was, but she just seemed different. Maybe it was just her. Heather was paraniod a lot and maybe this was just one of those times. As the sun shone across the lake, Heather smiled. Everything about today was perfect. The way the sun shone. The way the wind blew. Everything.
Turning her head to face her friend, Heather couldn't help but laugh. "I know. Last years uniforms were completely horrible. The colors...the design...the only reason I wore it was because if I didn't they would have kicked me off the squad. I'm trying for co-captain this year. Skipping a year of cheering wouldn't have helped that." Heather to cheering was like a jock to basketball. You just don't mess with them or come between the two. That was the same with her and shopping as well.

She smiled "Yea I always got your back." She said knocking Heather's shoulder lightly. She could take on just about anybody that came her way. She wasn't to big on fighting but she wouldn't let people think she is a typical East town girl. One that wouldn't want to ruin her nail job punching something. She liked how Carmen and Heather were kind of like that with her. She wasn't to popular with the uptight girls but she was extremely popular with the normal ones.
She looked over at Heather and smiled. "Yea and I will definitely vote for you to be Co-Captain." She said She knew that Heather was one of the best Cheerleaders around and they would be down right crazy not to make Heather Co-Captain.

A smile spreaded across Heather's face at Winter's words. "Of course you do. If you didn't, I'd probably have been killed by those lose- I mean the West Siders." Heather hadn't really had a run-in with anyone from the West Side, but that was mostly because she avoided them almost all the time. It seemed easier to do this during the Summer though, but once school started back up, she knew there would be a couple of fights started and ended by the East Side. That's just the way things worked.
Another smile. Of course Heather's bestest friends would vote her as Co-Captain. She would probably have made it as Captain except for one problem. Heather didn't like taking complete control. Not with cheerleading anyways. Sure, she had great cheer ideas and would be the perfect one for the job, but Heather just wouldn't do it. "You better vote for me. Otherwise I'll be forced to reduce you to an enemy." Heather was, of course, joking. She had know Winter to long to let something that small take over their friendship.

Winter held her hand over her heart. "Noooooooo Please I will vote for you always." She said being dramatic. She settled down. "What kind of Drama do you think there is going to be What kind of Drama do you think "Joseph" is going to start." She said doing quotes in between her brother's name her twin brother. "I am kind of scared of the Drama he can create. And it being our Senior year he is going to think he can rule the school." She said sighing know that is exactly what Joe will try to do.

Heather laughed at Winter's dramatic expressions. "You better." she joked. Of course, in a way she was serious. What would Heather do if someone out-did her in her best thing? Cheerleading was the only school thing she was really good at. In classes, well, most of the time she didn't pay attention in classes. She usually just joked around with her friends in the back. But of course, she was always joking around with her friends so this was nothing new.
Heather rolled her eyes at the thought of Joseph. Mr. Bad Boy himself. He was always causing trouble between the East Side and West Side. It was like he lived to fight with them. Although this annoyed her, since she wasn't really the 'fighting' type, she couldn't help but have a tiny itsy-bitsy crush on him. Okay, maybe not so tiny. Maybe like....huge, but still. He was her best friend's brother. You don't just admit something like that.
Heather shrugged her shoulders as if to say 'I don't know' and then changed the subject back to cheerleading. "So I was thinking of maybe giving the school board some ideas on what our uniforms should like. Think they'd go for it?" Heather said, completely avoiding the 'Joe' subject.

She smirked and shook her head. Heather might have thought that she had changed the topic good. She knew how Heather felt about her brother and she thought it was cute. She thought that they would look cute together but she went with the topic change. "Yea that sounds like a great idea Heather. I really think that they will go for that otherwise they are going to have a bunch of pissed off Cheerleaders on their hands." She said smiling. "So what kind of cheers do you think we will learn this year?" She said thinking about it. She hope they will be good. Their captain sometimes doesn't have the greatest of choices when picking songs. "I hope she picks good this year espeically at the competition." She said.

Heather reached into her purse and pulled out a few crumpled pieces of paper. She carried her purse around everywhere with her and it usually contained pictures she had cut out of magazines, various make-up products, and pictures of all her friends and her sister, Carmen. "I found these two the other day in American Cheerleader." "I was thinking maybe one of these with our schools colors and name. What'd you think?" Heather pushed the two cut-outs over to Winter and smiled. "As for the cheers, I just hope that if I make Co-Captain, the Captain will go with some of my ideas." Heather had a ton of ideas for cheers, but she didn't know if she'd even be made Co-Captain. "If I make Co-Captain this year that is."

Winter took the pictures and smiled. "Awwww don't worry girl you will get that position they are crazy if they don't give it to you." She said smiling. "You are one of the best cheerleaders in the area and I know that you are definitely Co-Captain material. You know you have my vote and I know almost all of the girls are behind you because you are great and the ideas you have are awesome." She said.

Heather smiled and hugged her friend. "Are you just saying that so I don't go into crazy mode?" Heather said with a laugh. She layed back down on her back and looked up at the sky. "Cause it's working." She knew that she would make Co-Captain, but it just worried her. What if some other girl showed up and took her spot? What if Heather did make Co-Cap and then completely drew a blank when it came to all things cheer-related? She didn't know what she would do then. "Anyways, enough about me and my cheer-obsession." Heather turned her head to look at Winter, "What's new in the life of Mrs. Scott?"

She laid back as well. "Nothing really just that I got kind of lost and ended up in the West side of town and almost got raped." She said and closed her eyes waiting for the explosion from Heather demanded to know when this happened and why she wasn't informed about it right away. She loved that about Heather. She cared so much for her friends. Most people thought that she was stuck but she wasn't she was one of the kindest sweetest girls Winter had ever met. She didn't know if she should tell her about Craig saving her.
